1 day Sofia
As soon as you arrive at the airport of Sofia, you will be transferred and accommodated in the chosen hotel.
Depending on your flights details, we will do for you a brief sightseeing tour of the capital, where you will se
the beauty of two opposites intertwining, the modern and the antique. Some optional activities are:
- Sofia by night – night tour of Sofia ( a drink in a chosen bar )
- Cultural night – opera, theater or concert
- Casino night – for those who like to challenge the fate
2 day Sofia
After eating your breakfast you are going to visit Boyana Church – a UNESCO World heritage list site. The
church is well known with its well preserved collection of medieval paintings dating back to 1259. Then you
will get transferred to mount Vitosha, where you will enjoy the beautiful nature, the fresh air and the pleasant
view of Sofia from above. On the way back you will visit the National Historical Museum, and see the golden
treasure of the Thracians. After that you will have free time for shopping or relaxation. Overnight.
3 day Sofia – Plovdiv – Bachkovo monastery – Plovdiv
Breakfast. The second biggest city of Bulgaria is waiting for you today. You are going to visit Plovdiv. After you get accommodated in the chosen hotel, we will do a sightseeing tour of the city. The main interesting places are: The Old Town, The Roman amphitheater, The Ethnographic museum. Then a short tour is organized for you in Bachkovo monastery, near to Plovdiv. After this enjoyable day you will have some freetime that you can use for shopping or relaxation. Dinner will be served at the restaurant “Jolly village” accompanied with live folklore show. Overnight.
4 day Plovdiv – Perperikon – Kardjali
Breakfast. On the fourth day of our route you will visit the oldest capital of the Thracians, a rock palace, a
millennium older than the Egyptian pyramids (13 – 12th century BC) – Perperikon. Perperikon was discovered
by the archaeologists just the last few years. Near to it there is another beautiful town that will host you
tonight, called Kardjali. As you get accommodated in the chosen hotel we will provide for you a sightseeing
tour of the city, where you will have the possibility to visit the Town Museum that contains a lot of artifacts.
Dinner. Overnight.
5 day Kardjali – Istanbul
After you have enjoyed your breakfast we will depart toward Istanbul. As soon as we arrive there, you will be
accommodated in the chosen hotel. You will also have an orientation tour about the city. Like an optional
activity we can suggests you a night club with show program.
6 day Istanbul
Breakfast. Full day city tour with lunch including visit of St. Sofia -this architectural wonder with its 30 millions gold tiles throughout its interior, and a wide, flat dome which was an engineering feat at the time it was constructed in the 6th century, one of the landmarks of the city (Not available on Mondays), Blue Mosque /Sultan Ahmet Mosque/ – a masterpiece of the Ottoman architect Mehmet /completed 1616/, Hippodrome / in the Bizantine Period, the place had three functions – first of these were the sportive activities and art events/, Topkapi Palace – this palace of the Ottoman sultans was the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1465 to 1853. The construction of the Topkapi Palace was ordered by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror in 1459. (Not available on Tuesdays) Suleiman Mosque /ordered by Suleiman the Magnificent and built by the famous architect Kodga Mimar Sinan – the chief architect of Istanbul during the reign of Sultan Suleiman/ and Grand Bazaar - a huge network of covered streets with numerous shops/ (Not available on Sundays). Return to the hotel for overnight.
7 day Istanbul
Breakfast. This day is all in your disposal. Some optional activities that MIEL suggests to you are:
- Half day excursion to Princess Islands. During the summer months the Princess islands are a very
popular destination. There is no traffic there so the only transport is with horses and cart.
- Dinner in a local fish restaurant.
Breakfast. According to your flight details you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
